My hubby and I have some REALLY exciting news to share here on the blog!!!
If you didn't already know, or haven't already guessed, then yes, we are expecting our first bundle of joy this coming Fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Baby Morrison is already very well loved and many people are excited to meet our little one this year.
Charles and I couldn't be happier or more proud of our little baby growing inside of me.
We still can't believe this is a reality for us. I can't wait to see Charles holding his little newborn baby for the first time, he is going to be such a good papa. =)
The way we found out we were expecting was the funniest thing ever!
It was January 3rd and all afternoon that day I felt nauseous and kept finding myself overheating. That night I was out to dinner with my mom, sisters and aunt in MN. Even though I felt as sick as a dog, I tried ordering my favorite chicken tikka masala dish. Unfortunately, I didn't even make it past 3 bites before I had to stop. Our plans after dinner were to go and meet my cousin's little newborn. Problem was, if I was actually sick with the stomach flu, then I wasn't going to be able to meet my cousin's new baby. =(
So there I was, sitting in the middle of a restaurant, having to tell my family my little dilemma.
My aunt perked up and said "no problem, there is a grocery store right across the street, you stay here and I'll be right back!" Five minutes later, she was back with a pregnancy test and of course, a big bag of chocolates!!!
So there I was, in the middle of Everest (the restaurant) where I found out we were all clear to go and meet baby Gerard and that I was expecting a little one of my own =) =) =) True story!
My hubby already thinks it's a girl and so.... the BIG romantic that he is, I came home to this wonderful surpirse!!! He is seriously the BEST =)
My first day back from MN I was off to the health food store where we stocked up on lots of vitamins and protein for little baby Morrison!
So far I'm feeling great, just extremely tired every day. Life lately has included many, many beautiful and long naps for me and this little one. It's crazy how different your while body feels when there is a little one growing inside of you, it's a beautiful and very powerful feeling!
I love it!!!
Thanks for sharing in our happy news =)

Oh my gosh I LOVE this post chica and I am so so excited for you and charlie!!!!!! How sweet of Charlie and so cute! That is such a funny story of how you found out! hahaha Protein coffee really? Only you:) Just like I said in my speech I can't wait to see and meet your adorable babies! :)
ReplyDeleteThis makes me smile on so many levels. I think girl, too. Doubled over. Wink. Wink. Praying for your expanding family! So glad we text chatted this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteSuch happy news, congrats!!
ReplyDeleteSo unbelievably happy for you two =) You will be wonderful parents and all your littles will be so blessed =) You all are in my prayers!!!
ReplyDeleteRachel told us the story! The funny thing is about an hour before Rachel and were sitting in the living room and I almost asked her: Is Maggie pregnant yet? Haha! Congratulations my dear!! I'm so thrilled for you and Charlie. Now my mothering side is going to kick in: Drink whole milk, but not a lot of it. Fish oils -- awesome, it helps in brain development. Eat 100 grams of protein a day, not kidding...if you want a healthy pregnancy and smart and healthy baby. At the end of my last pregnancy I had to eat 120 grams to avoid toxima. I know lots of good reliable books you can read, too. With my first pregnancy I felt like it was a full time job preparing! Loves to you!! Angie
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny!! Yeah people were guessing right around the time I was starting to tell people. It was so hard to keep it from you at Cara's wedding, but I hadn't even told Charlie at that point yet ;) Thanks for any helpful suggestions you can pass my way, seriously!!! But how in the world were you getting 120 grams of protein in? I'm having a hard time with 100. I feel like I have to make myself eat all the time and I'm not hungry and don't crave food. I've been eating string cheese, kifir yogurt and some protein shakes. What else did you do for protein???? Thanks for sharing in our joy!!! Love ya!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, chica!!! We are beyond thrilled and super excited to meet this little one. Keep the prayers coming, we can always use those!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Monica! I will definitely look into Bradley teachers in our area! You are a teacher in Naples, correct? Miss all of you soooo much!!! I think of you and the girls often. Say "hello" to them for me!!! =)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kate! Being parents puts a smile on our face every day =)
ReplyDelete=) =) Our text chat MADE MY DAY!!!!! Thanks for your prayers! Keep them a coming! This is such a great journey to be on =) It feels like a full time job trying to eat 100 grams of protein every day!!! But it's totally worth it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chica! It's adorable to see Charlie's reaction each day when he thinks about the fact that he is a dad. She just smiles really big and squeals with delight! Yes, the protein coffee really does help me get through the day. I don't really crave coffee much while I'm pregnant. It's weird!
ReplyDeleteYes, the Bradley method is the way to go! The book was really good, too.
ReplyDeleteOmg!! how exciting. Congrats! I can't wait till you find out the gender (for real) and really start planning for it's arrival. Babies are so exciting, I am due with my second one in July :)
