{ Todays Letters }

Bronze twist sandals from Boden
Dear Weekend, I wouldn't mind if you decided to come early this week!  Not only because I'm pumped for an awesome Colbie Caillat concert with my mom, my sister and my boyfriend's mom and his sisters, but because weekends are just relaxing (all relative to the rest of the week that is :).  Dear Boyfriend,  I love how you are such a planner of surprises!  I can't wait to find out what you have planned for my birthday surprise this Sunday.   You are just amazing!  Dear Boden, thank you for my twist sandals for the warm summer months; you ended up being pretty cute, even though you weren't my favorite color gold like I had really hoped you would be.  Dear Becs, thanks for being such a great after college pen-pal and for sharing the joys of letter writing with me ~ your most recent letter was a highlight of the week!  Thank goodness for friends that make getting bills a little more bearable! Dear Lost, thanks a lot for getting me all addicted to you; you're an awesome show and I swear you make 4 hours feel like 40 minutes!  Dear Charles, thank you for your love letters that just appear in the mail out of the blue, they make me smile!

Missed Proms and Family Reunions and don't forget the Donkey!

After work on Saturday morning, the actual weekend began with a little shopping for summer clothes and things that I'll take with on my trips to MN and Hawaii : )  The awesome find of the day:
This super cute La La Romper that I found in my favorite sleepwear section!

The actual colors of mine are even cuter than this one! : )

Saturdays activities ended in a Sugarland concert with my brother and good friends from Ave Maria University (w/ a bud light lime in hand :)  YEAH Baby!!!
Reason for the outlandish title of this post came from the fact that a fan at the concert had a sign saying he was missing prom to be there that evening.  Seeing as prom was ummm....quite a while ago, we all know that couldn't possibly be true.  But it turned into the joke of the evening and was called up on stage twice!  Guess his excuse worked and got him the attention he was looking for.  Then another girl's sign said she was missing her family reunion to be there that evening.  "Stuff happens" she said.  Then a third sign said, "play this song for me and you can pin a tail on my donkey!"  So these stories combined lead to an evening of missed proms, family reunions and donkeys!  Needless to say, the concert was amazing and my brother and I had quite a blast with our good friends from college!
A great way to spend a summers evening!

Ave Maria Represents!!!

Canaan Smith opened for Sugarland tonight!  I really enjoyed their style of music.

Katie and I chilling out

I love weekends like these, especially when they end on a happy note!  With Sunday came a last minute decision to get together with one of my best friends in Wisconsin.  We've been friends for years and it was great getting to spend  a few hours chatting away with her and her sister.  (what girls do best!)
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend too!

Inspirational grounds for blogging and planting flowers!

My boy and I planting away.

All planted ~ now I just hope our little friends are getting watered every day!
Dear Charles, thank you for being willing (and happy ; )  to join me in doing many things I enjoy doing, such as planting flowers!  You know how bummed I was last weekend when our plans to do this fell through, so thanks for making such a big point of it this weekend.  Of course it wasn't complete without our trip to Portillos for big bacon cheeseburgers before hand and a concert at Ravinia afterwards!!!  This was the perfect summer Saturday spent together, at least in my opinion that is.  Dear Green Goodness,  thank you for being the perfect solution to masking the interesting taste of the other powdery green goodness that I add to you in the morning! : )  I think this regimen is giving me energy which is always a good thing, right??  Dear pillow, thanks for being organic and almost always my favorite part of the day.  Dear Miss Becca thank you for being the inspiration and driving force to get me on my blogging way again!  It feels good to be back!

Iron & Wine

Thank goodness for romantic lazy summer evenings!  First concert of the season ~ Iron & Wine complete with a yummy picnic and an amazing bottle of white wine (found on a dinner date out with Charles)  This entire combination made for a great Saturday evening date!   Iron and Wine has a unique Indie style about them that is simply chill and wonderful.  Charles knows how much I love this song "the Boy with The Coin" and kept reassuring me the entire evening that they would play "my song".  As the evening drew to a close and they still had not played my favorite song I began to cry inside just a little.  I just wanted them to play my song, just once, pretty please!!! To my inner delight they did end up playing the song second to last.  Then, here was the grand finale.... a new favorite!

This was a great kick off for the concert season as I'm also looking forward to Sarah Mclachlan, Colbie Caillat, Sugarland and Demi Lovato.  This is definitely a summer filled with great music accompanied by wonderful company to go with it.

The best concert atmosphere ever!  I love seeing so many people all together on one big lawn picnicking and enjoying their wine!

Between all the candles and trees that were lit up, I'd say it was a pretty romantic place to be on a summers night!

Me and "the Boy with the coin" : )

Iron & Wine (insert a little squeal here)!!!

 Happy concert going, people!!!

The reason for posting a single picture from back during craft time in December is so that a good friend of mine can post this picture to her pinterest!   Seeing as I cannot find a way around not being able to "pin" straight from facebook, I thought this was the best way to help her have access to the picture.  Let's hope this works! : )
